Lt. Gov. Race Getting Crowded on the GOP Side
State Party
Thursday, 04 June 2009 11:55
We have John Wright of Broken Arrow, Todd Lamb of Edmond, and Colby Schwartz of Yukon all announced, or about to announce.  I favor John Wright right now, but that's based on nothing but the fact that I found him funny at the GOP Convention this year.  I will make my real decision on something more substantial, like how they look shirtless after running a few miles.

Rep. John Wright is the real deal. His integrity and character is unquestionable, and he is very well-respected by his colleagues of both parties. Rep. Wright is fair to all; you should have listened to the last debates of the legislative session on the house side. Two of the top Democrats were debating for a bill, and Wright was debating against it. They both, upon finishing, yielded the rest of their time to Rep. Wright, after stating something about how fair he is, even to his opponents.

John Wright should be our candidate.

My decision will be based on their voting records and legislation they have introduced or cosponsored.

THE OKLAHOMA CONSTITUTION Conservative index score(2008) gives John Wright 100 for last year and 94 cumulative. Lamb is 80/71 and Shultz is 80/72, so it will be John Wright for me unless he does something stupid like not pay his property taxes or get a drunk driving ticket.

Yeah, that\'s another good way to determine who to vote for.

Thanks for those stats. That really makes it easier to grasp who is more conservative, because I am sure they will all talk the conservative talk. They may all be conservative, but why not get the best?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that John Wright is one of THE most conservative members of the legislature. You wouldn\'t believe how many Republican House members check to see how he\'s voting before they vote... he sets the example for the more conservative wing of the caucus.

The Oklahoma Constitution publishes their conservative index scores every year in the SUMMER issue. The scores for 2009 should be out in July. Anyone who does not subscribe to this valuable publication (shame on you ) can find them on the Oklahoma Constitution website.

You said it, Ms.Bobbie -- shame on anyone who doesn\'t subscribe to the Constitution. Subscribe today -- give a cartoonist and outlet for his neuroses. :side:

I agree with something Michelle said, too. Don\'t just look at their voting record -- look at what legislation they\'ve introduced or co-sponsored. There are a couple of legislators who have voted extremely conservatively through the years that I\'m beginning to have some misgivings about.

One wants to tell do DNA collection on everyone who\'s arrested, whether they\'re charged, tried convicted, or simply set free. This gentleman, in addition to encouraging the presumption of guilt with this legislation, is feeding directly into the whole biometric data collection scam that Republicans are being manipulated into by Svengali-like totalitarians.

The other is pro-fusion centers, which are basically regional collection centers for biometric data to be shared globally. Again, a basically good man who\'s been conned by Svengali-like totalitarians, and has alienated a lot of his base in the process.

I surely value the Constitution. Each issue is so jam packed with information it takes me a quarter to get through all of it before the next one arrives. I have saved every issue since I began receiving it, and renew subscriptions for a couple of people when I renew my own.

The summer issue with the index scores is well worth the yearly subscription.

I enjoy the cartoons too
