All of our Republican candidates for statewide offices will be speaking or have someone speak for them with the exception of one. This is a great opportunity to hear and meet each of them. Be an informed voter. We have six statewide primary races this year. It is very important that we elect the best individual for each office
The meeting will be held at the Kiamichi Technology Center (301 Kiamichi Dr.) in McAlester from 1:00-3:00 PM. Be sure to arrive early as a large crowd is expected.

"The law of the land trumps any Executive Order, which can be reversed or altered at the stroke of a pen by this or any subsequent President without any congressional approval or notice. Moreover, while an Executive Order can direct members of the executive branch, it cannot direct the private sector.
"Because of Roe v. Wade, courts have interpreted the decision as a statutory mandate that the government must provide federal funding for elective abortion in through federal programs. In other words, no Executive Order or regulation can override a statutory mandate unless Congress passes a law that prohibits federal funding from being used in this manner. Legal experts at the US Catholic Conference of Bishops, National Right to Life Committee, Americans United for Life, and Family Research Council have confirmed this view that if the Senate bill is signed into law, it is a statutory mandate for the new health plans to include federal funding of elective abortion. The need for an Executive Order is evidence that this is true, and Congressional Democrats know it. Make no mistake, a 'yes' vote on the Democrats' health care bill is a vote for taxpayer-funded abortions."
In an attempt to get their pathetic names in the papers, the Oklahoma black caucus (they don't deserve capitalization) is crying like little babies about Randy Brogdon mentioning fried chicken. Boo hoo. I hate to break it to the race baiting black caucus, but most people don't think like that. When I hear the words "fried chicken" I think of one word, "Yummy." When I talk about fried chicken it is not because I have hateful thoughts about black people on my mind. It's because I'm hungry and I want to go to AQ Chicken House in Arkansas.
And either the writer of this story mixed some words up or this guy just doesn't make sense:
"There's probably nobody in the building who disagrees more with the President Obama on health care, however, my concerns are the debate should always be about stereotype or anything else," State Rep. T.W. Shannon (R) said.
"My concerns are the debate should always be about stereotype or anything else"?? WTH?
Here is the extremely offensive remark. Please hide the eyes of your children. Heck, hide your own eyes. It is truly horrific. You probably shouldn't even continue.
"Are we going to have to purchase fried chicken tomorrow for dinner?" Brogdon asked, referring to the federal mandate.
Okay, so let me get this straight. Brogdon, in referring to the federal mandate ordering us to purchase a product, uses a very common food reference (which he explained later was what he had for lunch) and he is an evil racist who should apologize.
Maybe there were other options...

Maybe I'm just looking at this all wrong. Maybe it feels good to get offended about little nothings. I tell you what- the next time I hear somebody mention casseroles, I am going to go ballistic!!

16. The government will extract a fee of $2 billion annually from medical device makers. If you are a medical device maker what you will pay depends on your share of medical device sales in the U.S. So, if you sell 10% of the medical devices in the U.S., what you pay will be 10% multiplied by $2 billion, or $200,000,000. Think you, as a medical device maker, know how to better use that money, say for R&D? Tough. (Section 9009 (b)).
The reconciliation package turns that into a 2.9% excise tax for medical device makers. Think you, as a medical device maker, know how to better use that money, say for research and development? Tough. (Section 1405).
It's not about politics. It's about freedom. And this healthcare bill is not about healthcare. It is about government control. If you want the government to have that much control over your life, you are going to get what you deserve. It's too bad you have to drag the rest of us down with you.
